ERIC ROBINSON HAS BECOME THE BAGMAN FOR THOSE CORRUPTING THE FLORIDA POLITICAL PROCESS

PART II

HOW ROBINSON FUNNELS PAC MONEY

(CLICK HERE TO VIEW FOR PART I )

By Jon Susce

Sarasota County School Board candidate, Eric Robinson’s involvement in the Volusia County political campaign in 2014 shows how Sarasota/Manatee based multi-million dollar developers are not only corrupting the local Sarasota/Manatee political system, but also areas like Volusia and other Florida counties by funneling money from various Robinson PAC’s that Robinson puts together.

For example, according to an article that appeared in the Daytona News Journal during the 2014 election cycle titled, “SARASOTA PAC TAKES ON VOLUSIA COUNTY COUNCIL CANDIDATE,” it was written that a PAC put together by Sarasota/Manatee County political operative Eric Robinson, got involved in a Volusia County Council race with a pair of attack mailers. The mailers smeared one the candidate’s record as “one big mess after another,” inferring that he can’t be trusted, and further that if he’s elected, “all signs point to disaster.”

The identity of the person or group that created and paid for the mailer was, as is often the case with PAC attack ads, was not immediately known.  Records on the expenditure were not posted in the state’s campaign finance database.  State records showed money passed through multiple committees to get to the MAKING A BETTER TOMORROW PAC, which produced the ad.

What was known is that Robinson was the treasurer and the individual who put together the MAKING A BETTER TOMORROW PAC that paid for the the attack ad. Robinson is also the same individual that is the treasurer for just about every politician political campaign in Sarasota and Manatee Counties. In addition, Robinson is connected to a PAC that moves thousands and thousands of dollars of dark money through over 50 PAC’s that he has put together.

BENDERSON & NEAL INVOLVEMENT

IN ROBINSON’S VOLUSIA DARK MONEY PAC

What is now known regarding the Volusia County attack ad incident is that two LLC’s controlled by Randy Benderson, both with a 570 Delaware Avenue address in Buffalo, New York gave two $5,000 contributions, respectively to the CITIZENS HAVE RIGHTS IN SARASOTA PAC.  In addition, the Robinson managed, VOLUSIA GOOD GOVERNMENT PAC, which received a $20,000 contribution from Pat Neal, gave another $10,000 to the CITIZENS HAVE RIGHTS IN SARASOTA PAC.

With $10,000 from Benderson and another $10,000 from the VOLUSIA GOOD GOVERNMENT PAC (managed by Robinson who operates out of his CPA office at 133 Venice Avenue in Venice) $20,000 was then funneled into the MAKING A BETTER GOVERNMENT PAC to attack the Volusia County Commission candidate.

CITIZENS HAVE RIGHTS PAC EXEMPLIFIES

HOW ROBINSON FUNNELS DARK MONEY

For example, during the 2012 Election cycle the following contributions went into the CITIZENS HAVE RIGHTS PAC:

$10,000 from two Benderson LLC’s – ANNA MARIA ASSN. & CYPRESS WOODS ASSN.; $18,000 from Pat Neal LLC – WILMINGTON LAND CO.; $1,000 from HALFACRE CONSTRUCTION; $1,500 from ROBINSON; $2,500 from BAYSIDE SOD INC.; $2,500 from BISPHAM FAMILY LTD PARTNERSHIP; $7,500 from HENRY RODRIGUEZ; $3,779 from GULF COAST BUILDERS EXCHANGE; $2,500 from the SARASOTA COUNTY REPUBLICAN EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE.

Expenditures from the CITIZENS HAVE RIGHTS PAC in 2012: $6,869 went into the dark hole ad company now located in Washington D.C, POLITICAL INK and another $2,691 to a local dark hole ad agency in Sarasota, Andrick Associates. Both ad agencies put out political ads to support the handpicked candidates of the Benderson, Neal, Beruff, Jensen Gang. Another $5,142 was contributed to another Robinson PAC called TAKE BACK OUR GOVERNMENT to move more dark money.

To begin the 2014 election cycle, what was left over from the 2012 election cycle the CITIZENS HAVE RIGHTS PAC received the following contributions:

$132,669 from three Naples physicians–Sunil Pandya, Kristy Baker and Linell King;

$14,396 from a Venice physician, Richard Sears;

$10,000 from two Benderson LLC’s (ANNA MARIA ASSN. & CYPRESS WOODS ASSN.) both with a Buffalo, N.Y address;

$20,000 from another Robinson PAC, VOLUSIA GOOD GOVERNMENT, which had received $20,000 from two Pat Neal LLC’s, ARVIDA PARK ASSN. and ESTUARY INVESTMENT CORP.

Money paid out in expenditures from the CITIZENS HAVE RIGHTS PAC in 2014 were the following:

$1,492 to the law firm of Bentley & Brunning;

Four $600 payments to Ellenton based local political consultant, Mac Stevenson;

Two $925 payments to Cherry Communications for polling;

$140,000 to ROBBIES LLC, which is a Venice based consulting company whose principals are Eric Robinson and his wife, Sarasota County Commissioner Christine Robinson;

$20,000 to another Robinson PAC–MAKING A BETTER TOMORROW to move more dark money.

The $20,000 from the CITIZENS HAVE RIGHTS IN SARASOTA PAC which went to the MAKING A BETTER TOMORROW PAC was joined by a $10,000 contribution from multi-million dollar developer, Carlos Beruff and $10,000 from another developer, James Gabbert.  Yet another $10,000 came from an entity connected to Gary Kompothecras, who is a major financial campaign contributor to local, state and national politicians.

In addition there are four LLC’s contributing $5,000 apiece from Randy Benderson, again entities with a Buffalo, New York address. Those entities controlled by Randy Benderson are COCOPLUM ASSN., CYPRESS WOODS ASSN, PROMEADE ASSN, and SIPOC ASSN. There is $9,750 from a PAC based in Newberry, Florida called FREEDOM FIRST and another $10,000 from Kolter Land Partners located in West Palm Beach.

ROBINSON AND WAECHTER FUNNEL

PAC MONEY TO LOCAL SARASOTA POLITICIANS

Another $5,100 in expenditures from the CITIZENS HAVE RIGHTS IN SARASOTA PAC went to another PAC , TAKE BACK OUR GOVERNMENT, managed by Robinson’s  fellow political operative, who happens to be a felon convicted for election fraud, Bob Waechter.

The Waechter managed, TAKE BACK OUR GOVERNMENT PAC raised $77,421 in the 2012 election cycle. $25,000 of this amount came from an LLC controlled by Carlos Beruff, $34,000 from the Robinson’s managed COMMITTEE TO PROTECT FLORIDA SENIORS PAC, $5,000 from another Robinson managed PAC, CITIZENS HAVE RIGHTS IN SARASOTA and $2,000 from a PAC based in Sacramento, California called STUDENTS FIRST.

$57,100 raised by the Waechter managed TAKE BACK OUR GOVERNMENT PAC went to the Political Ink ad agency, which as mentioned before is the major ad agency used by Mac Stevenson, Robinson and Waechter to promote their handpicked local hack politicians.

WAECHTER FUNNELED DARK MONEY

INTO PATTERSON CAMPAIGN

It must have been a coincidence that Waechters’s PAC in 2010 paid $20,547 in three installments of $5,777, $3,546 and $11,244 attacking Patterson’s opponent using an ad agency then located in Alexandria Virginia called Political Inkand that Political Ink was the same ad agency used by the 2010 Patterson re-election campaign which paid $54,530 in 9 installments of $3,562, $14,204, $6,302, $$5,972, $2,520, $3,851, $2,520, $9,574, and $5,025 for services.
COMMITTEE TO PROTECT FLORIDA SENIORS INC.

USES ROBINSON PAC TO MOVE DARK MONEY

What is equally well camouflaged  and another example of how Robinson funnels thousands of dollars from Benderson, Neal, Beruff and Jensen is demonstrated through another PAC which Robinson put together, COMMITTEE TO PROTECT FLORIDA SENIORS INC.

Case in point, during the 2012 and 2013 election cycle, $149,950 was raised by Eric Robinson. $27,000 came from Mosaic Fertilizer based in Plymouth, Minnesota; $25,000 from two Beruff controlled LLC’s, CARGOR PARTNERS III and WEST COAST HOLDINGS; WILMINGTON LAND COMPANY, an LLC controlled by Pat Neal contributed $2,000; $66,000 from a PAC called VETERANS FOR CONSERVATIVE PRINCIPALS based in Tallahassee; and $7,500 from Randy Benderson.

$142,590 of money raised by Robinson’s managed COMMITTEE TO PROTECT FLORIDA SENIORS was funneled into other Robinson managed PAC’s to support various other candidates and referendum questions that Benderson, Beruff, Neal and Jensen have an interest, such as the surtax referendum in Manatee County that was defeated. The referendum proposed a sales tax increase to pay for health care programs in Manatee County.

According to Tom Nolan, who was the paid political consultant that led the campaign to approve the surtax referendum in Manatee County, the reason that dark money was funneled into various Robinson PAC’s to defeat the referendum was that Beruff and others were against public funding for medical assistance to indigents. They approve only referendums that pay for infrastructure so that they don’t have to pay those costs for their various developments.

CITIZENS GRAND JURY COORDINATOR

CONTRIBUTES TO ROBINSON PAC

Another contribution to the COMMITTEE TO PROTECT FLORIDA SENIORS PAC was the $40,000 made by Roger Dowdell, who is the coordinator for the National Liberty Alliance which touts the Citizens Grand Jury.  Dowdell recently came before the Sarasota County Charter Review Board to propose a “people’s common law grand jury,” which is a proposal to investigate and prosecute government officials for treason—which carries a potential death penalty.

“Grand jury powers come from God,” Dowdell said, advocating a return to the post-revolution legal system where there were no police departments, and judges rode horseback to hear cases brought by groups of 25 citizens.

SARASOTA COUNTY COMMISSIONER CHRISTINE ROBINSON INVOLVED WITH PAC FUNNELING MONEY TO FLORIDA POLITICIANS
One of the PAC’s put together by Eric Robinson, CITIZENS FOR FLORIDA’S PROSPERITY, which has raised $491,913 in the 2012, 2013 and 2014 election cycles, has Robinson’s wife, Sarasota County Commissioner Christine Robinson as the PAC agent.
ROBINSON FUNNELED DARK MONEY

FROM TALLAHASSEE TO ATTACK RAMIREZ

In the last election cycle Robinson funneled $75,000 from an entity in Tallahassee to attack Lourdes Ramirez who was a candidate for the Sarasota County Commission, and an opponent of the Benderson/ Neal/Beruff/Jensen Gang candidate, Al Maio. Ramirez was attacked maliciously, which was similar to Waechter’s attack on Nora Patterson’s opponent in 2010. Ramirez was defamed politically by Waechter, who was subsequently arrested and convicted of a felony for his outrageous actions.

$35,000 of the $75,000 raised by Robinson was placed in the attack ad on Ramirez by the Washington D.C. ad agency, Political Ink, which as mentioned above, is used by the Waechter/Robinson/Mac Stevenson political machine during the last three election cycles to attack the candidates opposed by the Benderson/ Neal/ Beruff/ Jensen Gang.

ROBINSON MOVED DARK MONEY INTO CARAGIULO COUNTY COMMISSION CAMPAIGN

In another Sarasota County Commission race, Paul Caragiulo— who is another hack politician that Neal, Benderson, Beruff and their fellow travelers buy like apples at Publix— was promoted as a candidate in a political ad paid for by a PAC called CITIZENS AGAINST TAXATION, which was also put together by Eric Robinson.

CITIZENS AGAINST TAXATION was the recipient of two contributions from two Tallahassee based PAC’s called FLORIDA INNOVATION FUND and COMMITTEE FOR JUSTICE which totaled $42,000.  Robinson stated that the money from the two Tallahassee based PACs to his managed PAC are for Florida State Representative races.  The Sarasota County School Board candidate couldn’t explain how money for Florida State Representative races ended up paying for a flyer promoting Caragiulo for Sarasota County Commissioner.

ROBINSON DUMPS PAC MONEY

INTO DEMOCRAT CRIST’S PAC

If ever there was an example of how Eric Robinson could care less about political philosophy, but serves only his true love, namely moving dark money around from one PAC to another; it is illustrated through a PAC he manages called FLORIDIANS FOR LIBERTY.  This particular PAC raised more than $160,000 in 2014.

According to financial records filed with the state Division of Elections, on Jan. 8 of 2015, almost everything left in the FLORIDIANS FOR LIBERTY account, $5,154.07 was moved to a different Robinson controlled committee, the LEGAL REFORM NOW COMMITTEE.  About two weeks later, two other committees Robinson chaired, namely CITIZENS AGAINST TAXATION AND CITIZENS UNITED FOR LESS TAXES drained their cash into LEGAL REFORM NOW as well.

   ROBINSON PAC MONEY ENDS UP IN SCTA
Then, on February 13, 2015, LEGAL REFORM NOW sent $10,000 – about everything it had – to the FLORIDIANS FOR FAIRNESS PAC. That PAC had not received a donation since the 2014 election, during which it funneled $749,750 to Democrat Charlie Crist’s gubernatorial campaign. Within days of receiving the $10,000, FLORIDIANS FOR FAIRNESS , chaired by Tampa political consultant Frederick Jay Burmer, transferred the money to the SARASOTA CLASSIFIED TEACHERS ASSOCIATION (SCTA).

Consider this:  Republican Robinson dumps $10,000 into a PAC, which raised $749,750 for a Democratic candidate for Governor, Charlie Crist, which in turn transferred $10,000 to the SCTA who supported Ken Marsh for the Sarasota School Board against Bridget Ziegler in 2014, whose dark money PAC was managed by Robinson!

Can there be a shadow of doubt that this so called Republican Conservative and former Chairman of the Sarasota County Republican Party, Eric Robinson is nothing more than a “bag man” for whomsoever wishes to pay him and his Sarasota County Commissioner wife a consulting fee—and who is a closet Charlie Crist supporter or a closet supporter of the Liberal SCTA?

In addition, for his efforts in moving around the dark money in his various 50 plus PAC’s,  Robinson has received from the LEGAL REFORM NOW PAC, $40,000 as a consultant for the PAC. There’s another $5,000 “kiss” for Eric Robinson and Commissioner Christine Robinson’s entity, ROBBIE’S LLC from the LEGAL REFORM NOW PAC.

By the way, it was Crist in 2010 who appointed Ms. Eric Robinson to fill the seat vacated by former Sarasota County Commissioner Shannon Staub, thereby elevating Ms. Robinson to the center of the “Pay to Play” political carnival in Sarasota.

ROBINSON MOVES DARK MONEY INTO

SARASOTA SCHOOL BOARD RACE

As mentioned in PART I of this series, Robinson is the recent recipient of $170,000 in dark PAC money for his campaign for the Sarasota School Board from the following PAC: MAKING A BETTER TOMORROW, SARASOTA CITIZENS FOR OUR SCHOOLS and a Jacksonville based PAC called BUILD SOMETHING THAT LAST. Major contributors to these PAC that Robinson has put together, which includes the Jacksonville PAC, are Benderson, Beruff, Kompethecras, Gabbert, Merrill, and major political figures in Jacksonville.
ROBINSON’S DENIALS ARE BOGUS
Robinson asserts that he has little to do with the operations of the 50 plus PAC’s he manages, other than moving checks around, is ludicrous. Robinson along with his fellow political operative, convicted felon Bob Waechter who perpetrated an  election fraud crime, are nothing more than the “bag men” for multi-million dollar developers, who are corrupting the political process not only in Sarasota, but also in Volusia county and other cities and counties in Florida.
