Robinson-Mast-Ziegler School Board is a “Pay to Play” School Board

A ROBINSON-MAST-ZIEGLER SCHOOL BOARD IS A “PAY TO PLAY” SCHOOL BOARD
By Jon Susce

Incredulously, one of most devious and conniving political operatives in Sarasota County, namely Eric Robinson, is running unopposed for the Sarasota County School Board.  This being the case, Robinson is positioned to place the Sarasota County School Board as being part of a “Pay to Play” scheme, which will be in the hands of local developers and interests outside of Sarasota. These special interest are financing Robinson’s campaign and the campaign of Teresa Mast against Caroline Zucker for the local School Board.

If Mast should get elected over Zucker, who is the present School Board member, she and Robinson will join previously elected School Board member Bridget Zeigler, who is also deep in the pockets of the same local developers financing the campaigns of Mast and Robinson, thereby forming a three member majority. These local developers backing Robinson and Mast to join Ziegler are doing so in order to keep Impact fees low and to get involved with the Charter School corporate welfare scheme; and have also joined with outside interests from Jacksonville, Tampa and beyond who are interested in introducing the Charter School scheme into Sarasota County.

In addition, with the trio of Robinson, Mast and Ziegler in the pockets of local developers— and outside interests beyond Sarasota— those who financed the campaigns of the trio will be able to dictate as to who the incoming Sarasota County Superintendent of Schools will be, not to mention that their “Pay to Play” plan, made possible by the installment of their hand picked, puppet School Board members, will be put into motion.

If that isn’t EXTREMELY SCARY to local concerned citizens, something is wrong with their logic.

ROBINSON AND OTHERS SHOULD THINK TWICE ABOUT “PAY TO  PLAY” SCAMS
Robinson and others involved with this present Charter School Board scheme and other “Pay to Play” ploys need to think about what the former U.S. Attorney Patrick J. Fitzgerald declared when he was the chief prosecutor in a major political “Pay to Play” corruption scam case in Illinois; “If there’s a public official out there who is thinking about committing a crime, boy, they ought to be thinking twice.  Think about those years in prison and think twice.”

TO PRISON ON “PAY TO PLAY” SCAM IN ALABAMA

HUBBARD ON WAY TO JAIL

Robinson, and those for whom he moves hundreds of thousands of dollars in dark PAC money for “Pay to Play” scams, also need to look to Alabama where the former Speaker of the Alabama House of Representatives, Mike Hubbard was successfully prosecuted by a special appointed prosecutor for “Pay to Play” scams, and recently got sentenced to four years in a state prison.

Hubbard was the self-proclaimed architect of the GOP takeover of the State House in Alabama, the consensus most powerful man in Alabama politics, the standout with his hand out, was convicted on 12 of 23 counts of using his office to fatten his own substantial wallet.

The state prison where Hubbard was sent is one that “get-tough-on-crime” legislators have crammed to twice its capacity, a state prison where fights are routine and rage simmers. It ain’t Club Fed. It’s real, real prison and real consequences. A real reason for those involved with unethical “Pay to Play” schemes to be afraid that their get of jail free pass is outdated.

RILEY “LUCKY” HE’S NOT JOINING HUBBARD

RILEY TESTIFYING AT HUBBARD TRIAL
What is of interest is that according to a Birmingham media outlet: “A reluctant witness in the case that sent Hubbard to prison, former Alabama Governor Bob Riley, is lucky he is not a Hubbard co-defendant.” (SEE ATTACHMENTS 1 ,2 & 3).

Alabama is also the place where a U.S. Federal Attorney sent another former Alabama Governor, Don SiegelmanPATTERSON_RODRIGUEZ

to a federal prison in Louisiana for his part in another “Pay to Play” scam.  Siegelman received a six year term in a Louisiana Federal prison for appointing an individual to a position in Alabama State Government in return for a campaign contribution.

What is incredible about that Federal decision in Alabama to prosecute Siegelman and send him to prison is that former Sarasota County Commissioner Nora Patterson did the exact same thing Siegelmen did. Patterson passed inside information about an upcoming Sarasota County meeting and voted affirmatively for a project that was financially favorable to the individual giving her a campaign contribution, multimillion dollar developer, Henry Rodriguez.

Instead of facing an indictment for her” Pay to Play” scam, Patterson is on the street running for the Florida State Senate.

ARE LOCAL AND STATE POLITICIANS AND “PAY TO PLAY” PATRONS BULLET PROOF?
Just because Robinson, is a bag man for those who control the Sheriff and the State Attorney on the local level, and the Governor and Attorney General on the State level; and perversely shielded by the ineptitude of the current Florida Democratic Party, they believe they are bullet proof. They might need to look to Alabama where Hubbard and Sieglemen no doubt thought they were bullet proof before they went to prison.
FLORIDA PUBLIC SCHOOLS UP FOR SALE
KIRTLEYRobinson is funneling PAC money in support of politicians supporting the Charter Schools scheme, which include Florida Governor Rick Scott, the upcoming (2017) President of the Florida State Senate, Joe Negron, and other Florida politicians, who along with multi millionaire venture capitalists like John Kirtley of Tampa and Gary Chartrand of Jacksonville are putting Florida schools up for sale.  The scheme will continue to further shift state funds to private schools while giving more tax breaks to businesses and big corporations.

A similar scheme, to that mentioned above, led to the incarceration of the former Speaker of the Alabama House of Representative to state prison for a term of four years, and came close to sending Kirtley’s business partner, the former Governor of Alabama to prison.

$MULTI MILLION CHARTER SCHOOL CORPORATE WELFARE PROGRAMS
With the tax credits, the state doesn’t technically write the check. A business or corporation writes a check, for example, to Riley and Kirtley’s nonprofit for the scholarships in Alabama and Kirtley’s in Florida, then the business or corporation gets a one hundred percent tax credit — money that would have otherwise gone to state education coffers.

Chartrand and Kirtley programs are basically a Corporate Welfare Scam for corporations to get large tax breaks for contributions to Kirtley and Riley’s nonprofits in Florida and Alabama.

CHARTER SCHOOLS BLOTTED WITH MYTHS IN ORDER TO DESTROY PUBLIC SCHOOLS”
RAVITICHChartrand and Kirtley Charter School type-programs are described by Jane Ravitich, who was appointed to public office by President George H.W. Bush to serve as Assistant Secretary of Education under Secretary of Education Lamar Alexander, as being: “low-performing charters, frauds, involved in corruption, having incompetent charter operators and engaged in exclusionary policies practiced by charters that result in poor results and divert much needed funding from public schools into private hands.”
BILLIONAIRES BLOWING UP SCHOOL WITH STUPID DECISIONS
Ravitich, who is a Wellesley College graduate and a Columbia University Masters Degree recipient, as well as a former Stanford University Hoover School fellow, further stated: “the charter school and testing reform movement are studded with ‘myths’ started by billionaires for the purpose of destroying public education.”

Ravitich further stated, “They (Charter Schools) are destroying our education system, blowing it up by their stupid policies. High-stakes testing, “utopian” goals, “draconian” penalties, school closings, privatization, and charter schools didn’t work.”

LOCAL MULTIMILLIONAIRE DEVELOPERS FINANCING TAKE- OVER OF LOCAL SCHOOL BOARDS
Kirtley and Chartrand along with multimillion developers on the local level like Pat Neal, Carlos Beruff, Rex Jensen, Randy Benderson, and James Gabbert have joined together with others in these basic Corporate Welfare programs throughout the state in greasing the pockets of politicians throughout the State of Florida. Those politicians are documented as Governor Scott, Attorney General Pam Bondi, friendly legislators, lobbyists and local School Board members in various Florida counties like Sarasota where Robinson, Mast and Bridget Ziegler have found root.

For example, $50,000 and $25,000, respctively of Kirtley’s campaign contributions have gone to the soft-money committees controlled by Governor Rick Scott and Attorney General Pam Bondi.

KIRTLEY PAC RAISES $MILIONS$ TO ATTACK OPPONENTS OF CHARTER SCHOOLS
Kirtley’s PAC, Florida Federation for Children (FFC) has raised over $4 million and has contributed all of thatZUCKER $4 million to influence politicians in Florida and Alabama, which includes money for an attack piece on Mast’s opponent, Caroline Zucker. Over 80% of FFC  expenditures have gone to various direct mail companies to promote Kirtley candidates and to attack Kirtley’s opponents to Charter Schools both in Florida and Alabama.

Kirtley’s FFC PAC is connected to the American Federation for Children (AFC)PAC which has contributed a major portion of the $4 million to Kirtley’s PAC in Florida.

DARK PAC MONEY FUNNELED INTO KIRTLEY’S PAC TO ATTACK ZUCKER
FELON_WAECHTER___COXThree opponents of Zucker are recent local contributors to Kirtley’s PAC.   One is John Cox of HALFACRE Construction, who contributed $5,000 to the attack piece on Zucker; $1,000 came from the twice convicted felon who serves as Robinson’s partner in corrupting Sarasota County Government, Bob Waechter. The third was $10,000 from a Robinson managed PAC, Legal Reform Now.

By the way, how did this twice convicted felon and local political operative (Waechter), who came to Sarasota on a disability pension from the City of New York Fire Department become a local political kingmaker and major political operative?

How could this one time local roofer become able to afford to contribute multi-thousand dollar contributions to local politicians? Better yet, how did this convicted felon (Waechter) attain a get out of jail pass from local States Attorney, Ed Brodsky?

JACKSONVILLE MONEY INFLUENCING SARASOTA SCHOOL BOARD RACE
Chartrand is a heavy contributor to four Robinson managed PAC’s greasing the pockets of Florida legislators pushing the Kirtley/Chartrand Corporate Welfare Scam. The four PAC’s managed by Robinson that received thousands of dollars from Chartrand are: Conservative Solutions for Jacksonville, Sarasota Citizens for Our Schools, Building Something that Lasts  and  Making a Better Tomorrow.

Of the over 50 PAC’s Robinson manages, those four received $1.6 million in contributions, of which Robinson distributed $1.2 million in  dark PAC money to politicians throughout the State of Florida, which includes Robinson and Mast.

$$$THOUSANDS$ FROM LOCAL DEVELOPERS TO DEFEAT ZUCKER
In addition to the thousands of dollars coming from Tampa, Jacksonville and beyond to control the Sarasota County School Board election, thousands of dollars have come from the following multimillion dollar developers corrupting Sarasota County Government:

Pat Neal: seven $1,000 contributions and two $500 contributions; Carlos Beruff: sixteen contributions with six $1,000 contributions and ten $200 contributions; Randy Benderson: four $1,000 contributions; James Gabbert: six contributions totaling $3,800; Gary Kompothecras: seven $1,000 contributions; Rex Jensen: three $500 contributions; Bob Waechter: six, $1,000 contributions.

ROBINSON FUNNELS IN THOUSANDS IN DARK PAC MONEY TO DEFEAT ZUCKER
In addition to those contributions to Robinson and Mast from local multimillion dollar developers, there are additional campaign contributions to a Robinson managed PAC supporting Robinson and Mast. Case in point: $5,000 from William Merrill III, $10,000 from Gabbert; $10,000 from Beruff; $10,000 from Kompothecras and $20,000 from Benderson.
ROBINSON AND MAST WILL DO BIDDING OF DEVELOPERS ON LOW IMPACT FEES
Those thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from those multimillion dollar developers are not just for participation in the Kirtley and Chartrand Corporate Welfare Charter School Scam, but most importantly to lower impact fees. No doubt Robinson and Mast along with another political hack presently on the School Board, Bridget Ziegler will follow keeping impact fees to what Neal and his gang desire, just as those political hacks on the Sarasota County Commission in the pockets of Neal, Benderson etc., follow directions.
OUTSIDE INTERESTS ARE  TO INFLUENCE LOCAL SCHOOL BOARD
Chartrand and Kirtley, no doubt pumping thousands of dollars into the Robinson and Mast campaigns, intend to influence the Sarasota County School Board from Jacksonville, Tampa and beyond with the election of Robinson and Mast, who together with present School Board member Bridget Zielgler are documented receiving  thousands of dirty PAC money from Robinson financed by Chartrand and Kirtley.

Chartrand already has six of the seven School Board members in his pockets in Jacksonville/Duval County and from his perch in Jacksonville he intends to have Robinson, Mast and Ziegler in his pocket.

ZIEGLER’S ATTACK ON ZUCKER IS LAUGHABLE
ZIEGLER2By the way, it is almost laughable how Christian Ziegler, the husband of Bridget Ziegler and self-proclaimed defender of his so called “Republican conservative principals,” is sending out pronouncements using the Transgender wedge issue against Zucker by stating: “Zucker Is On The Wrong Side Of The Transgender Bathroom, Locker Room and Sleepover Issue.” In addition Ziegler states Zucker is getting support from the local Democratic Party and the Sarasota County Teachers Union (SCTA).

Maybe Christian should ask Robinson what he is doing with a $1,000 contribution from a PAC that raised over $700,000 for Democratic candidate for Governor, Charlie Crist and gave the SCTA a $1,000 contribution. In addition Christian needs to ask Robinson and Mast why they are receiving major campaign financing from Chartrand, who according to Ziegler’s logic “Is On The Wrong Side Of The Transgender Bathroom, Locker Room and Sleepover Issue.” Unlike Zucker, Chartrand is  publicly a major supporter of pro-transgender issues in Jacksonville.
